Finding solutions to the many education problems is a challenge. Schools throughout the country have a declining pool of certified teachers. School violence has caused many parents to opt out of public schools for the specialized charter schools. Drop out rates have increased in some communities. Issues facing schools are causing communities to rethink educating the next generation.

Colleges and universities are creatively working to identify ways they can train teachers and get them certified so that the quality of teaching improves. Vendors working with schools are proposing programs to districts that will allow teachers to get extra training in curriculum, pedagogy, and content if they implement their programs. Professional development is a core part of staff development in the K-12 schools. Principals are training to become instructional leaders, so that they can monitor teacher learning.

School resource officers are working on campuses to curb student violence. Zero tolerance for violence is helping to keep schools safe. Parents, administrators, teachers, and communities have identified safety concerns for their schools and implemented plans to eradicate the troubles. Education problem is a contentious issue in both rural and inner city schools.

Charter Schools are opening in communities offering parents and students a choice in educational options. They usually offer smaller classes with better educational results. Parent involvement is high and purposeful in Charter Schools than in the regular public schools in the community. Higher graduation rates are in the Charter Schools. Communities continue to tackle these seriously.
